Utah Linebacker Devin Lloyd Returning For 2021 Season

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd announced that he will be returning to the Utes for the upcoming 2021 season.
The star Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd had the choice of entering the 2021 NFL Draft or returning for another season with Utah.
Lloyd announced his decision on Twitter, calling it “One Last Ride.”

Lloyd had a tremendous 2020 season where he earned first team All-Pac-12 honors, was named to the Sporting News All-America second team and was a Butkus Award finalist, which is given to the top linebacker in college football.
In five games this past season, Lloyd led the team in tackles (48), tackles for loss (10), along with 2 sacks, a forced fumble and one quarterback hurry.
In 2019, Lloyd was named an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention after leading the team with 91 tackles, as well second-most sack with 6.5 and 11 tackles for loss in 14 games played.
The Chula Vista, California native told the media after Utah’s comeback win over Washington State that he was going to think about whether or not to return to Utah or go to the NFL. The junior was named a captain this past season and has been the anchor of Utah’s young defense that was one of the best units in the Pac-12. He is also a leader off the field as Lloyd has been at the forefront of social justice movements.
