BOISE, Idaho – The highly-anticipated BYU/Boise State game could have people in the stands after all.
Pending permission from health authorities in the state of Idaho, Boise State will allow a limited number of full-time, fee-paying Boise students to attend Friday’s game featuring a pair of nationally-ranked teams. According to reports, Boise State is trying to get 1,100 fans in attendance at Albertsons Stadium for Friday night.

Boise State created a ticket lottery for BSU students to win one of the limited opportunities to attend the game. Students have to submit their information by 5 p.m. today as they will then be required to take an on-campus COVID test on Thursday.
An official decision from Idaho health authorities will come tonight at 8 p.m. (MT). If approved, this will be the first Boise State home game that has fans in the stands. The Broncos home-opener against Utah State on October 24th had no one in attendance.
BYU has played their last three games in front of spectators after their first four games were played in empty venues.
Friday night’s game is the first time between the two rivals that each is ranked in the Top 25 polls. BYU’s No. 9 ranking is their highest spot in the polls since 2009. With a win, both teams make a strong case towards landing a New Year’s Six bowl spot.
