Utah Football Receives Commitment From Three-Star Athlete Velltray Jefferson

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The University of Utah football program continues to bring in recruits despite limitations with the current pandemic.
The latest prospect to verbally commit to Utah is three-star athlete Velltray Jefferson.
Jefferson is a 6’4, 230-pound athlete from Edison High School in Fresno, California. He is the 48th ranked athlete in the country and the No. 67 recruit in the state of California. Velltray Jefferson announced his decision on Instagram Live.

Jefferson received offers from USC, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Fresno State, Liberty, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, San Jose State, Tennessee, Washington and Washington State.
Utah defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley was Jefferson’s primary recruiter.
Jefferson is the 10th player to commit to Utah in the 2021 class, joining four-star QB Peter Costelli, four-star inside linebacker Mason Tufaga, three-star running back Ricky Parks, three-star defensive tackle Tevita Fotu, three-star inside linebacker Trey Reynolds, three-star offensive guard Koli Faaiu, three-star wide receiver Deamikkio Nathan and three-star outside linebacker Jonah Elliss.
