Utah Football Players, Coaches React To Pac-12 Announcement

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Pac-12 made a big announcement on Thursday night that players and coaches around the Utah football program were waiting for.

After postponing fall sports back in August, teams were forced to wait until January 1 to possibly play. The conference pulled the trigger on starting the season on November 6 or 7.

When the announcement was made, players and coaches took to social media to show their excitement to be playing football again.

Kyle Whittingham, Head Coach

Whittingham also released a statement to the media on Thursday night.

“Our players have done a great job staying focused over the course of the past several months and have worked extremely hard through all of the uncertainty. We’re excited that we’ve been given the go-ahead to play football this fall and look forward to getting the season underway,” Whittingham said.

“It’s real! It’s on! Can’t be happier for our players and fans,” Holliday wrote.

Fred Whittingham, Tight Ends Coach

“Fired Up! The players continued to work hard waiting for this opportunity to return. Let’s go Utes!” Whittingham tweeted.

Jake Bentley, Quarterback

“Can’t even explain the feeling!! WE’RE BACK!!! Can’t wait to take the field with my Utah football family!!!!!” Bentley wrote.

Cameron Rising, Quarterback

“November 6th! We’re back!” Rising tweeted.

T.J. Green, Running Back

Xavier Carlton, Defensive End

“The day you find out your childhood dream is coming true! Nov 6th can’t get here soon enough,” Carlton wrote.
