Utah Royals FC Draw With OL Reign In Return To Rio Tinto Stadium

SANDY, Utah – Utah Royals FC played OL Reign to a 2-2 draw in their first match at Rio Tinto Stadium of 2020.
The Royals had a strong start with a goal by Aminata Diallo in the 9th minute when she blasted the ball into the back of the net at the top of the box. 13 minutes later, the Royals went up by two goals when Tziarra King scored a goal in the 22nd minute.
Just one minute later, the OL Reign scored for the first time of the afternoon when Balder put the away side on the board in the 23rd minute. Then White scored for the road team to equalize in the 28th minute.
All four goals in the match were scored in the first 28 minutes.

The Royals played their second game without head coach Craig Harrington and assistant coach Louis Lancaster were put on leave by the club. Amy LePeilbet is the interim coach.
Saturday was Utah’s second game of the NWSL Fall Series. They lost at Portland on September 20, 3-0. They now have one more game against Portland and OL Reign in their regular season. The Royals will host the Thorns on Saturday, October 3 at 8 p.m. MT and will conclude the series on the road against OL Reign on Saturday, October 17 at 6 p.m. MT.
