SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Tony Finau found himself eight shots off the lead entering Friday at the Travelers Championship and needed a low second round to secure his place for the weekend, unfortunately, Finau was only able to manage a one-under round of 69 and now must wait to see if he makes the cut.
Finau teed off hole 10 to begin his second-round where he pared the first three holes. His first birdie of the day came on the par 5 13th, although two bogeys shortly after on 15 and 17 put Finau back into the plus territory. Fortunately, a birdie at 18 had Finau even at the turn.
Then, birdies at 3 and 6 had Finau charging towards the finish line, however, a bogey on 7 saw Finau back to one-under-par where he would eventually finish.
Finau currently sits in a tie for 55 at three-under-par and is flirting with the cut line.
Par at 9
Tony shot 69(-1) today, and is -3 for the tournament
He is currently T55

The top 65 players and ties will make the cut, although, with plenty of golf still left to be played today (Friday), Finau will be relying on his competitors to not go as low as they did on Thursday. Canadian Mackenzie Hughes shot a 10-under-par round of 60 to open the tournament and held a three-shot lead going into the second round.
