SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Salt Lake City native and PGA Tour member Tony Finau has shot a first-round score of 66, five-under-par during the opening day of the RBC Heritage tournament hosted at Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina.
Currently, despite play still underway, Finau is in a tie for sixth, two shots off the current leader Ian Poulter.

Finau teed off on hole 10 to start his round and opened with a bogey off of the first. However, Finau would find a way to not make another bogey for the remainder of the round. Instead, he birdied 6 of the remaining 17 holes to set himself up nicely heading into day two of the tournament.
Remarkably, despite only hitting 43 percent of fairways, Finau would hit greens in regulation on 83 percent. His irons were dialed, regardless of where his ball lied off the tee shot. His average driving distance during the first round was 283 yards.
The RBC Heritage is the second event for PGA Players as they return from the coronavirus hiatus. Last week, Finau finished in a tie for 23rd after making the cut and finishing his fourth round with a combined eight-under-par.
A great round for Tony today, he has put himself in an excellent position.
I will have some round stats out later
