SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Since the summer of 2019, Adidas Basketball and Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell have released multiple colors and designs of the NBA All-Stars’ first signature shoe.
The first edition of Mitchell’s kicks were released on July 1, 2019. The shoes came in a red/blue Spider-Man colorway that honored the Jazzman’s nickname “Spida” and the comic book superhero “Spider-Man.”
Multiple colorways have been unveiled since the original D.O.N Issue #1 design. Some of the designs have been worn exclusively by Mitchell while others have been available for the general public to purchase.
These are the top 10 colorways of Mitchell’s signature Adidas D.O.N. Issue #1 shoes:
Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Spiderweb
During the 2019-20 NBA season, Donovan Mitchell was seen sporting a “Pink Spiderweb” version of his Adidas signature shoes. Unfortunately, the colorway hasn’t been available for purchase.
Some of Mitchell’s best D.O.N Issue #1 designs pay home to things he cares about. One of the exclusive colorway designs was in honor of the university that the Jazz guard attended prior to entering the NBA. These Louisville Cardinals themed shoes are great looking but an exclusive for Louisville Basketball.
International Women’s Day 2020
The week prior to the NBA season coming to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic, Mitchell honored women with a unique International Women’s Day version of his Adidas shoes. Mitchell worn the shoes during a Jazz game and gave away autographed shoes to multiple women at the game.

Another exclusive version of Mitchell’s shoes paid homage to the Jazz guard’s former middle school. To the disappoint of shoe enthusiasts and Jazz fans, the colorway has never been available for sale.

8. Rainbow Spider-Man
Like the Star Wars “Lightsaber” colorway, the “Rainbow Spider-Man” design of Mitchell’s shoes were on sale but only in youth sizes. Even without adult sizes available to purchase, the colorway is awesome and definitely makes the top 10 for the D.O.N Issue #1.

“Why so serious?” The “Joker” colorway of Mitchell’s Adidas shoes are simply awesome. The fact that this colorway ranks No. 6 on the list proves how great the top five D.O.N Issue #1 designs really are.
5. Be Humble
A recent release of the D.O.N Issue #1, the “Be Humble” colorway not only provides a great reminder but the shoes feature the blue, green, and gold colors of the Utah Jazz. These shoes are a must for any Jazz fan that loves Mitchell’s shoes.
4. 5 Generals
In the spring of 2020, Adidas released a series of shoes based off 14th Century folklore entitled the “5 Generals.” Mitchell along with fellow Adidas athletes, Derrick Rose, Tracy McGrady, Damian Lillard, and James Harden all have “5 General” colorways. The unique colorway’s combination of light colors and metallic silver is great.
3. Symbiote Spider-Man – “Venom”
One of the first colorways of Mitchell’s D.O.N Issue #1 shoes was based off the symbiote Spider-Man, Venom. The shoes are predominately black with white and pink accents. It’s not as good as the original Spider-Man but it’s pretty close.
2. Original Red & Blue Spider-Man
The first version of Mitchell’s Adidas signature shoes paid homage to the Jazz guard’s nickname “Spida” and his love for the red and blue comic book hero “Spider-Man.” These shoes are already a classic design and will forever be synonymous with Mitchell.
It’s tough to pass up an original design like the red and blue Spider-Man D.O.N Issue #1 shoes but Adidas and Mitchell sure did it. During the 2019-20 NBA season, the Utah Jazz renewed an old-time classic jersey featuring the “Purple Mountains” design that the team wore during its NBA Finals runs in the late 1990s. Mitchell aligned a colorway featuring a similar design with the Jazz organization’s re-release of the “Purple Mountain” jerseys.
In addition to the “Purple Mountains” on Mitchell’s shoe, a postage stamp featuring the Jazzman’s No. 45 jersey number, paid homage to Utah Jazz legend Karl Malone.
