The Draper, Utah native played high school football at Corner Canyon where he was the No. 2 ranked player in the state of Utah by Scout. He played for the Chargers in 2013 and 2014 after the school opened. Bowen played at Juan Diego before going to Corner Canyon.
While at Corner Canyon, Bowen helped the Chargers to a 12-1 record in 2014 and an appearance in the 4A state semifinals. He was named first team all-state by the Deseret News.
