SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Cincinnati Bengals picked former LSU Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Burrow became the league’s third straight quarterback to be selected with the first overall pick in the NFL Draft. The Arizona Cardinals drafted QB Kyler Murray number one overall in 2019 and the Cleveland Browns selected QB Baker Mayfield with the top pick in 2018.
The former Tigers signal-caller is headed to Cincy to lead an offense that helped the Bengals to a 2-14 record in 2019.

Joe Burrow’s Collegiate Career
A native of Athens, Ohio, Burrow committed to Ohio State University out of high school. After losing the starting quarterback job to current Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins, Burrow decided to transfer to LSU.
Burrow’s first season in the Bayou was solid but nothing to write home about. He played in 13 games and threw for 2,894 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions.
The LSU QB used that season to springboard a special performance in 2019.
Burrow was phenomenal for the Bayou Bengals last season. He led the Tigers to a perfect 15-0 record and a National Championship win over Clemson. Burrow was honored with the Heisman Trophy. He also won the Maxwell, Walter Camp Player of the Year, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm, and Davey O’Brien Awards. Burrow was honored as the unanimous Associated Press All-American and SEC Offensive Player of the Year.
During his senior season, Burrow threw for 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. He had a 76 percent completion percentage.
