Former Utah State Guard Abel Porter Transferring To Ohio State University
LOGAN, Utah – Former Utah State guard Abel Porter announced that he is transferring to Ohio State University for his final year of college basketball.
Porter announced his decision to become a Buckeye via Twitter on Saturday, April 11.
The former Utah State guard’s decision came nearly a month after he decided to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Originally a walk-on, Porter was awarded a scholarship during the 2018-19 regular season.
The Farmington, Utah native recently completed his redshirt junior season with the Aggies. Porter was honored during Utah State’s Senior Night at the end of the regular season.
This season, Porter posted 5.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.
He helped the Aggies win the Mountain West Conference Tournament title for the second straight year.
In four seasons with Utah State, Porter averaged 4.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He appeared in 95 games.
Porter joined a No. 19 ranked Buckeyes program that finished last season in fifth place in the Big Ten Conference with a record of 21-10.
