SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Utes running back Zack Moss will go down as the best running back in school history, now he will try to have a long and successful career in the NFL.
Former Utah and NFL quarterback along with KSL Sports host Scott Mitchell thinks he will be in the league for a long time.
“I see Zack Moss playing a long time in the NFL, I really do,” Mitchell told KSL Sports anchor Jeremiah Jensen on SportsBeat. “He has a lot of things that really translate and being a multi-dimensional back, he isn’t a one-hit wonder and gets into the right situation with the right team because he is versatile.”
Great Vision
The first thing that Mitchell pointed out was the incredible vision of Zack Moss.
“The first thing that is so impressive about Zack is that he has unbelievable vision,” Mitchell stated. “He has a great ability to see where the hole is. He was great at not trying to create something that wasn’t there. Great running backs have great vision and Zack Moss is amazing in his vision.”
Moss has always been a guy who can create something out of nothing. He has had plays in the past at Utah where the defense seemed to have stopped him behind the line of scrimmage but Moss always found a way to gain one or two yards when other backs would easily lose 5 yards.

“I watched Zack Moss closely for two years and the thing that really stood out to me was that he made so much out of a little,” Mitchell said. “He can always get extra yards and find that little hole but he was amazing at making things happen.”
Multi-Dimensional Back
Most running backs are one type of back. Mitchell was thinking about which one Moss is but he came to the conclusion that he was a multi-dimensional running back rather than being just a power back, speed back or finesse back.
“He is multi-dimensional,” said Mitchell. “Moss is a power back because when he has to put the lick on you, he is going to do it and he is really tough in the hole when he makes first contact. He is a speed guy too. He is fast and then he is also a finesse guy. He has all of these different aspects to his game and then on top of it, he can catch the ball.”
With his pro day canceled, Utah RB Zack Moss had a private workout today in which he was electronically timed at 4.52 in the 40. Had run an official 4.65 at the Combine. pic.twitter.com/iBsSbG4Nlj
