SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – As we are now less than one month until the 2020 NFL Draft, former Utah Ute and NFL quarterback Scott Mitchell loves what he sees on tape from Utah State QB Jordan Love.
Mitchell saw a lot of positives from the former Aggie QB and thinks he is special. The former Ute thinks that Love is the perfect fit with one particular team in the NFL who just lost their future Hall of Fame QB.
“The best place for him is the New England Patriots,” Mitchell said on SportsBeat. “It would be phenomenal and it would be the perfect place for him. Bill Belichick is a guy that will develop and knows how to handle these young quarterbacks and he will get the toughness out of him. He will get Jordan Love to compete every single day and Love will go to a good organization and a good team, and that physical talent can really shine in a place like that.”
Beautiful Throwing Motion
When Mitchell started to watch tape on Jordan Love, the first thing that stood out right away was his throwing motion.
“He passes the eye test,” Mitchell said. “This guy is something special physically. The first thing that stands out is his throwing motion. Your throwing motion has to be fluid and have no flaws in it. He (Love) has a beautiful throwing motion. The reason this is so important because in pressure situations, those things break down. When you get in the pressure of the NFL, that tends to lead to inaccurate throws and a lack of consistency.”
Not only does Jordan Love have a great throwing motion but he has touch on his throws.
“He has a big arm but he also has touch,” stated Mitchell. “He can throw a bullet pass deep but he also has touch on it. You are going to need to make all of those different kind of throws and they are going to force you to do that.
Love Is A First Round Talent
On most mock drafts that are done by national media outlets, Love is mainly projected to go in the first round. A former NFL quarterback for 11 seasons believes that Love is a first round talent but just needs to go to the perfect team.
“He is a first round draft pick,” Mitchell said. “He needs to go to the right team. He is probably going to end up with that team later in the first round.”

It has been a battle among the national outlets who are doing mock drafts that are picking the quarterbacks. They all have LSU QB Joe Burrow going first with Tua Tagovailoa being the second quarterback taken in the upcoming draft. The third quarterback has been between Oregon’s Justin Herbert and Jordan Love.
The NFL Draft will take place April 23-25. You can watch the full breakdown on Jordan Love from Scott Mitchell at the top of the story.
