SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Rejoice Utah Jazz fans, Vivint Smart Home has released another ad featuring two of your favorite Jazz big men. Or is it three?
In the latest ad from the home security company, centers Rudy Gobert and Ed Davis are seen playing pool together inside Gobert’s home. The advertisement begins with Gobert holding two pool cues as he breaks two racks of billiard balls.
Upon further inspection, it’s clear Gobert has two sets of everything in his Salt Lake City home. Davis asks why after winning his second Defensive Player of the Year award, Gobert has two identical house plants, two miniature french flags, two portraits of the Jazz star holding his DPOY trophies, and two saxophones hanging from his wall.
As Gobert begins to answer, Davis notices two thieves attempting to steal matching stone busts sitting outside of the All-Star center’s home.
Highlight the company’s smart home capabilities, Gobert opens two phones connected to security cameras outside of the home, telling the crooks in french to “Get lost.”
As the scene cuts back to Gobert after stopping the robbery, a clone of the french big man enters the frame holding smoothies for the twins to share.
“That’s messed up,” Davis responds
The home security company, which also owns the naming rights for the team’s basketball arena, has now produced more than a dozen ads featuring Jazz players. Most recently Gobert and guard Donovan Mitchell traded places doing voiceovers for one another praising their teammates talents on and off the floor.
Vivint’s ad campaign mirrors that of HEB with the San Antonio Spurs. HEB is a supermarket chain in San Antonio that has featured Spurs players dating back several seasons to advertise their products.
One ad that became particularly notable featured Spurs recent stars Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker heading to the ‘Spurs Retirement Ranch’ where familiar franchise faces Bruce Bowen, George Gervin, Sean Elliott, and Tim Duncan riding ATVs, doing Yoga, barbequing, and even wrangling the Spurs Coyote Mascot.
