SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz superstar Donovan Mitchell drove down the paint and threw down an impressive slam dunk in the final minute of the first half of Utah’s game against the Detroit Pistons.

Mitchell’s electric slam came during the second quarter of the Jazz’s game against the Pistons at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Monday, December 30.

With the paint wide open, Mitchell drove towards the basket, rose up, extended the ball back with his right arm, and threw down a massive slam through the hoop with 40 seconds left in the second quarter. Mitchell’s dunk cut Detroit’s lead to 40-37.

Mitchell led the Jazz with 11 points in the first half of Monday’s game. He shot 3-10 on field goals including 1-3 on three-pointers in the first 24 minutes of the game.

The Jazzman pulled down 2 rebounds, dished out an assist, and stole the ball once during 16 minutes on the court in the first two quarters of play.

The Jazz trailed the Pistons 40-39 at halftime.

Utah shot 33.3 percent from the field and a dismal 18.2 percent from behind the arc in the first half.

Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson led Utah’s bench in scoring with 9 points in 13 minutes on the court.

The Pistons were led by former NBA MVP Derrick Rose who scored 11 points off the bench.
