Back-To-Back Threes By Mitchell, Clarkson Spark Jazz Offense Against Pistons

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah guards Donovan Mitchell and Jordan Clarkson made back-to-back three-pointers to ignite the Jazz’s offense at the close of the first quarter against the Detroit Pistons.
The Jazz hosted the Pistons at Vivint Smart Home Arena in the team’s final game of 2019 on Monday, December 3o.
Mitchell received a pass from guard Emmanuel Mudiay and buried a 25-foot jumper with 1:02 left in the first quarter. After Utah forced a turnover from Detroit’s Andre Drummond, Clarkson rose up and drilled a shot from behind the arc to cut the Pistons’ lead to 21-19 to close the first 12 minutes of the game.

The Jazz opened the game trailing 1-6 before going on an 8-0 run. Midway through the quarter, Utah allowed Detroit to take control and go up 21-3 before the Jazz duo drilled the triples.
At the end of the first quarter, it's been a rocky start for the @UtahJazz, but a pair of late threes cuts the deficit to two.

Mitchell 5 points on 1-4 shooting including 1-1 from downtown. He added 1 rebound in 8 minutes on the court. Mitchell posted a team-high +6 plus-minus rating in the opening quarter.
Clarkson came off the bench and scored 5 points on 2-2 field goals in five first quarter minutes.
Utah shot 37.5 percent and 50 percent from behind the arc to open the game.
