SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake defender Justen Glad has been called into the U.S. national team camp by head coach Gregg Berhalter.
The team will travel to Doha, Qatar in January where they will begin preparations for their first friendly in 2020 against Costa Rica.
“We are thrilled to see Justen rewarded for another excellent season,” RSL General Manager Elliot Fall said. “His selection to January camp further establishes our club as an elite developer of young American talent.”

Camp will go from January 5-25 at the Aspire Academy in Doha.
The match against Costa Rica will serve as an important test for the USMNT as they focus on the upcoming CONCACAF Nations League Semifinal in June as well as the start of their 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification bid, which starts in September.
“I am very excited for Justen. It is always beneficial for the player and for the club to have representation at the national team level,” Real Salt Lake Head Coach Freddy Juarez said. “Justen is a professional that continues to grow and has a lot to offer U.S. Soccer.”
Glad, 22, is returning to the January camp for the third consecutive year. However, is still seeking his appearance with the Red, White, and Blue. In 2019, Glad started 23 times for Real Salt Lake while helping his club to a 14-6-3 record when he saw the pitch. Despite being just 22 years young, Glad already has 109 appearances next to his name for RSL.
“I’m very excited to get called in again,” Glad said. “It’s always an honor getting invited to camps and hopefully I can make the most of it and leave a lasting impression.”
