No. 1 Bingham Routs Weber In 2019 Season Opener
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Bingham Miners entered the 2019 season as the preseason No. 1 team in the state of Utah.
They faced Weber in their season opener on the road.
The 6A classification had many outstanding games with big time performances. Here is all of the action from the first week in 6A high school football in the state of Utah:
Bingham 41 at Weber 24
Weber started with a 75-yard touchdown pass from Kohl Hogan to Braeden Hart. Bingham scored three straight touchdowns as quarterback Troy Mehn found Isaiah Glasker for two of those three touchdowns, followed by a score from Hunter Larsen. Each team exchanged three touchdowns to end the game.
Alta 14 at Skyridge 28
Emmett Call had two rushing touchdowns a passing score for Skyridge as well as a touchdown on the ground from Jackson Lambert. Cinco Lucero had a passing and receiving touchdown for Alta in the loss.
Box Elder 30 at Kearns 34
Kearns scored 13 straight points off of a kickoff returned for a touchdown, a blocked field goal returned for a score and a touchdown pass. Parker Buchanan had two rushing touchdowns and threw for another for Box Elder. Their 20-7 second half wasn’t enough as the Cougars pick up the win at home.
Brighton 31 at Fremont 28
Brighton scored the game winning touchdown with 17 seconds left to sneak out with the win. Brighton QB Gabe Curtis threw four touchdowns, finding Matthew Cirillo three times. Fremont quarterback Mitch Stratford also had four touchdown passes, connecting with Brandon Baray twice.
Clearfield 14 at West 23
All five touchdowns in this game were scored by different players. West had an early 8-0 lead before Clearfield scored 14 unanswered. West outscored Clearfield 13-0 in the second half to get the win.
Copper Hills 33 at Taylorsville 7
Copper Hills scored 26 straight points before Taylorsville found the end zone. Daniel Gonzalez had three rushing touchdowns for the Grizzlies.

Herriman 14 at Davis 10
The Darts scored 10 points in the first half and held Herriman scoreless. But Herriman scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.

Riverton 14 at Pleasant Grove 28
Caleb Campbell accounted for three of PG’s four touchdowns. Makai Johnson passed and ran for a touchdown for Riverton in the loss.
Skyline 9 at Layton 10
The Lancers scored all 10 points in the fourth quarter to get the win over Skyline. Before giving up 10 straight points, Skyline had a field goal in the second quarter and a touchdown in the fourth.

Syracuse 49 at Granger 13
Syracuse scored three touchdowns in both the first and second quarters to jump out to a 42-7 lead. Titans’ QB Bridger Hamblin had three passing and three rushing touchdowns in the win.

West Jordan 7 at Roy 24
Cade Harris scored three of Roy’s four touchdowns, with Jaden Harris scoring the other for the Royals. Isaiah Lapale found the end zone for West Jordan early in the fourth quarter.
Woods Cross 32 at Westlake 28
Westlake jumped out to a 28-7 lead off of three touchdowns by Brayden Ross and a one-yard rushing touchdown by Andrew Jacob. Woods Cross scored 22 points in the second half, while holding Westlake scoreless. Carter Weierman threw three touchdowns to Luke Hyde, while Carson Miller found the end zone.
