Utah State Football To Play Iowa In 2023

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State University announced that the football team will travel to Iowa to play the Hawkeyes on Saturday, September 16, 2023.
It’s the third time that the Aggies will travel to Iowa City to play the Hawkeyes. The first time was in 1957, No. 12 Iowa beat USU 70-14 and the second time was in 2002 when Utah State was defeated 48-7.
Utah State has played four Big Ten schools, including Illinois in 1989, Penn State in 1977, Wisconsin in 1968, 2012 and 2017 and they played Michigan State this past season. The Aggies are 1-5 against schools from the Big Ten Conference with the lone win against Wisconsin in 1968.
Their non-conference games for the 2019 season includes Wake Forest, LSU, BYU and Stony Brook. During the 2020 season, they have scheduled Washington State, Washington, BYU and Southern Utah for their non-conference slate.
In 2021, Utah State will play Washington State, North Dakota, BYU and New Mexico. They have just Alabama and BYU scheduled in 2022 for their non-conference opponents.
The Aggies are coming off an 11-2 season, tying a school record for the most wins in a season and finished the season ranked No. 21 in the final AP Top 25 Poll. They defeated North Texas 52-13 in the New Mexico Bowl. Utah State will enter the 2019 season with Gary Andersen as head coach for the second time.
