SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz stunned the Boston Celtics 118-117, opening their four-game homestand with a win.

Lauri Markkanen led the Jazz with 28 points to go with 10 rebounds, while the Celtics were led by Jalen Brown with 25.

With the win, the Jazz climbed to 34-36 on the season.

First Quarter

The Celtics opened the game hot from three, knocking down 6-11 from downtown to build a 29-19 lead.

The Jazz struggled to find easy baskets with only Ochai Agbaji knocking down multiple baskets over the first 10 minutes of the quarter.

Lauri Markkanen and Agbaji led the Jazz with five points each while Jaylen Brown had 10 to lead the Celtics.

After one the Celtics led the Jazz 34-24.

Second Quarter

The Celtics continued their hot shooting into the second knocking down 5-10 to open the quarter, building a 19-point lead at 53-34.

The Jazz responded strongly closing the gap to just one, 58-57 with less than a minute left in the half.

The Celtics closed the half on a 6-0 run to rebuild their lead to seven.

Talen Horton-Tucker led the Jazz with 13 points at the half while Brown and Jayson Tatum had 15 each for Boston.

Through 24 minutes the Celtics led the Jazz 64-57.

Third Quarter

The Jazz continued their strong push in the third, taking a 71-69 lead early in the quarter on back-to-back Agbaji threes.

The lead climbed to seven, 82-75, as the Celtics hot shooting in the first half dramatically cooled off in the second.

Boston answered with an 11-0 run to take an 86-82 lead with less than two minutes to play in the third.

Through three, the Jazz trailed the Celtics 91-88.

Fourth Quarter

The Celtics opened the fourth well rebuilding their lead to seven, 102-95 in the first four minutes of the quarter.

The Jazz again bounced back and took a late one-point lead on a Horton-Tucker layup with 35 seconds to play.

The Celtics had the ball down one with five seconds left to play, but Walker Kessler blocked Grant Williams potential game-winner as the buzzer expired.

Markkanen finished with 29 points on a hard-earned 9-22 shooting while Grant Brown led the Celtics with 26 points.
