Jazz Down Charlotte Hornets, Win Second Straight

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz won their second straight game, downing the Charlotte Hornets 119-111.

Talen Horton-Tucker scored a season-high 37 points while handing out 10 assists and grabbing eight rebounds.

The Hornets were led by Kelly Oubre Jr. who scored 24.

First Quarter

Walker Kessler got out to a quick start scoring four points and grabbing five rebounds in seven first quarter minutes.

The Jazz shot 5-12 from the three-point line led by Ochai Agbaji who knocked down 2-6.

Former Jazzman Gordon Hayward led Charlotte with nine first quarter points to lead all scorers.

After one the Jazz led the Hornets 32-29.

Second Quarter

The Jazz opened up a 12 point lead, 54-42 thanks to an 11-2 run beginning midway through the second quarter.

Talen Horton-Tucker followed up his strong performance against Orlando with a 15 point first half to lead the Jazz.

Lauri Markkanen scored nine points but shot just 2-14 from the floor.

At the half the Jazz led the Hornets 58-49.

Third Quarter

Horton-Tucker continued his onslaught in the third scoring 10 points in the first three minutes as the Jazz built their lead to 73-57.

The Jazz lad grew to 23, 89-66 as the Hornets were unable to protect the paint.

The Hornets allowed the Jazz to shoot 14-20 inside the arc en route to 39 points third quarter points.

After three the Jazz led hte Hornets 97-81.

Fourth Quarter

The Hornets opened the fourth quarter on an 8-3 run and trimmed the Jazz lead to 10 with nine minutes left to play.

Charlotte drew as close as eight late in the fourth but never got any closer.

Horton-Tucker finished with 37 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds in the win.

The Jazz downed the Charlotte Hornets 119-111.
