SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz survived a late push from the shorthanded Dallas Mavericks and walked away with a 108-100 win.

Lauri Markkanen scored 29 points to lead the Jazz, leading four Jazz players who scored in double-digits.

Spencer Dinwiddie led all scorers with 35 as the Mavericks were playing without superstar Luka Doncic and big man Christian Wood.

First Quarter

The Mavericks defense struggled in the first quarter, allowing the Jazz to build a 27-15 lead in the opening 10 minutes on nearly 70 percent shooting from the floor and 50 percent from three.

Lauri Markkanen scored a quick seven points while Spencer Dinwiddie carried Dallas with eight.

The Jazz shot 12-18 from the floor and 3-6 from three in an efficient first quarter performance.

After one, the Jazz led the Mavericks 34-23.

Second Quarter

The Mavericks trimmed the Jazz lead to as few as eight early in the second quarter, but again let go of the rope.

The Jazz got out and ran off of numerous Mavericks misses, leading to easy transition baskets and second chance points.

Markkanen led four Jazz players in double-digits with 15 points at halftime.

At the break, the Jazz led Dallas 66-48.

Third Quarter

The Mavericks steadily chipped away at the Jazz lead throughout the third, led by strong three-point shooting from Dinwiddie.

The Jazz lead was trimmed to just 11 with four minutes left to play in the quarter, but they responded with a 5-0 run to give themselves breathing room.

Dallas again responded with a 10-0 run, fueled by a 12 point third quarter from Dinwiddie.

After three the Jazz led the Mavericks 84-76.

Fourth Quarter

The Mavericks came out firing in the fourth, keeping the deficit to single digits through the four minute mark.

The Jazz lead was as small as five with 2:20 left to play, but a Markkanen three, followed by a Walker Kessler free throw pushed it back to eight.

Markkanen would finish with 29 points while Dinwiddie led all scorers with 35, but it wasn’t enough for Dallas.

The Jazz beat the Mavericks 109-103.
