BYU Football Offers Ole Miss QB Commit Demond Williams Jr.

PROVO, Utah – BYU football extended a scholarship offer to Ole Miss quarterback commit Demond Williams Jr. on Wednesday.
Williams is a high school recruit in the class of 2024. A native of Chandler, Arizona, Williams announced his offer from BYU on social media.

The picture that Williams used to announce his offer included BYU safety, Micah Harper. Williams attends the same high school that Harper attended, Basha High School in Arizona.

The offer from BYU to Williams comes hours after Ole Miss landed a commitment from LSU quarterback transfer Walker Howard. Howard, a former four-star prospect, has four years of eligibility remaining in his collegiate career.
Williams verbally committed to Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss program last month and remains committed to the Rebels.

Demond Williams Jr. is one of the top QB recruits in 2024
A 5-foot-11, 160-pound, four-star prospect, Williams is the 17th-ranked quarterback in the 247Sports Composite rankings for the 2024 class. Williams has piled up 26 offers throughout his recruitment, 19 of which are from Power Five programs.
In his first three years of varsity football at Basha High, Williams Jr. has racked up 6,785 passing yards and 1,647 rushing. Along with his eye-popping yardage numbers, Williams has also accounted for 81 touchdowns (59 passing, 22 rushing).
Williams’ father, Demond Williams Sr., played college football at Michigan State as a junior college transfer in the 2005 and 2006 seasons.
BYU has now offered four different quarterback prospects for the 2024 recruiting cycle. Along with Williams, BYU has offers out to fellow four-star Isaac Wilson from Corner Canyon High, Three-star Maealiuaki Smith from San Mateo, California, and Luke Moga from Phoenix.
BYU added two quarterbacks for the 2023 season in Pitt transfer Kedon Slovis and Riverside City College transfer Jake Retzlaff.
