Jazz Start Three-Game Road Trip With Loss To Dallas Mavericks

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz dropped the first game of their three-game road trip, falling to the Dallas Mavericks 103-100.
Jordan Clarkson led the Jazz with 22 points, but was outdueled by Luka Doncic who poured in 33 to lead all scorers.
With the loss, the Jazz moved to 6-3 on the season.
First Quarter
The Jazz found themselves down 13-9 just four minutes into the game, but rattled off a 15-2 run to take a nine point lead midway through the quarter.
Dallas answered by trimming their deficit to two, but the Jazz answered with an 8-0 to close the quarter.

Jordan Clarkson led the Jazz with eight first quarter points while Spencer Dinwiddie scored six for the Mavericks. After one, the Jazz led Dallas 35-23.
Second Quarter
The Jazz struggled to score throughout the second quarter after Dallas went to a zone defense to protect Luka Doncic from picking up his fourth foul.
While Doncic scored 13 points in the period, the Jazz managed just 15 as a team and saw their big lead quickly evaporate.
The Jazz took a 50-47 lead into the break fueled by Clarkson’s 11 points.
Third Quarter
The Jazz rebuilt their lead to 15 early in the third quarter due to a quick nine points from Clarkson.
However, some sloppy turnovers led to an easy 8-0 run from Dallas to trim the lead to seven.

Doncic added another 11 points in the third quarter and brought his total to 29 for the night.
Collin Sexton hit a buzzer-beater to end the third quarter to give the Jazz a 78-74 lead after three.
Fourth Quarter
The Jazz offense continued to drag early in the fourth quarter while Christian Wood found his stroke scoring seven quick points in the period.
After several blown opportunities, the Jazz surrender a 78-76 lead on a Josh Green three with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Ultimately the Jazz didn’t have enough offense to match the Mavericks and fell 103-100 in Dallas.
