SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz will look to push their record on the road above .500 when they face the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.

Dallas represents the first of a three-game road trip for the Jazz who will also make a stop in Los Angeles to face the Lakers and the Clippers on Friday and Sunday.

The Mavericks meanwhile is looking to climb above .500 for the first time this season against the Jazz.

Jazz Are 2-2 On The Road

The Jazz have been one of the biggest surprise teams in the NBA this season opening the year 6-2.

The roster has yet to lose at home posting a perfect 4-0 record in Salt Lake City, but are just 2-2 on the road, including consecutive losses to the Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets.

The Jazz are coming off impressive back-to-back wins over the Memphis Grizzlies at home despite being shorthanded in both games.

Mike Conley missed Saturday’s narrow 124-123 win over the Grizzlies who were also playing without Ja Morant.

However, both guards returned in Monday’s 121-105 blowout at Vivint Arena.

Breakout forward Lauri Markkanen has been the catalyst for the Jazz success averaging 22.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.

Mavericks Alternating Wins And Losses

The Mavericks have been one of the more disappointing teams to start the season posting a 3-3 record through six games.

Luka Doncic carried Dallas to the Western Conference Finals last year eliminating the Jazz and the top-seeded Phoenix Suns before running into the eventual-champion Golden State Warriors.

Despite a relatively light schedule, the Mavericks have alternated wins and losses each game to open the year.

Dallas is 2-1 on the season at home and just 1-2 on the road.

Though Dallas has struggled to play consistent basketball as a team, Doncic has never played better. The superstar guard is averaging a league-best 36.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 8.7 assists.
