Walker Kessler Shows Off Creative Side With Jazz Logo

SALT LAKE CITY – It turns out Utah Jazz rookie Walker Kessler is a man of many talents.
October 25 is International Artists Day and Kessler got in on with his Jazz teammates as he took a stab at drawing the team’s iconic J-Note logo.
“Mine’s very athletically pleasing,” Kessler bragged about his Ipad rendering.

Each player got a chance to draw the Jazz logo at media day and Kessler blew away his veteran teammates.
While most players drew a simple basketball with a musical note attached, Kessler’s drawing featured a white-to-black gradient, utilizing negative space to represent the seems on the basketball.
“I’m not going to say that I’m skilled, but I’m definitely not the least skilled on the team,” Kessler said. “I’m sure there’s some ones way worse than that.”
Kessler certainly outperformed fellow rookie Ochai Agbaji whose scratchy logo was the least recognizable of the bunch.
However, Italian Simone Fontecchio represented his art-rich native country well with his black J-Note logo.
Kessler Has First Rough Rookie Outing
Kessler had been the Jazz best rookie through the first three games of the season averaging 8.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks in just 21 minutes per game.
The Auburn product was even the first player in NBA history to record a double-double in his rookie debut while also shooting 100 percent from the field.

However, the Jazz center saw his fortunes turn in Monday night’s loss to the Houston Rockets.
Going up against Jabari Smith, his former Tigers teammate, Kessler scored zero points and committed four fouls in just eight minutes off the bench.
The big man missed his only shot from the floor and turned the ball over twice in limited minutes.
Smith on the other hand had the best outing of his young career. The third overall pick scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds helping to lead Houston to their first win of the season while handing the Jazz their first loss.
