LEHI, Utah – The top-ranked Lehi Pioneers are Region 8 champions after a 55-21 blowout win over the Orem Tigers in the regular season finale on Wednesday.

Lehi and Orem was the KSL Game Night Live Game of the Week.

Second Quarter

The scoring opened in the second quarter for Lehi. With a Jace McGary one-yard touchdown, Lehi missed the extra point and held a 6-0 lead.

Lehi decided to dial up the deep ball and throw a 45-yard touchdown strike to Jace Johnson. A beautiful throw by QB Jackson Brousseau. Lehi then went for two and took a 14-0 lead.

Orem then responded though, as Roger Saleapaga lept over the defender, kept his balance, and took the rock to the house. A 54-yard pass by Orem passer Lance Reynolds III made it a 14-7 game.

Immediately following that touchdown though Orem would kick off. The ball sailed to the 10-yard line where Kadiyon Sweat went to work, finding an open lane, Sweat took the ball back over 80 yards for a touchdown. Lehi regained a 14-point lead at 21-7.

With one minute remaining in the half and after a long drive, Reynolds took matters into his own hands and ran the ball in for a seven-yard touchdown. That score made it 21-14 in favor of Lehi.

Lehi put together a lightning-fast drive that gets into enemy territory quickly, and to close the half Kobe Moore caught a touchdown that extended the Lehi lead to 28-14 going into halftime.

Third Quarter

Devaughn Eka opened the second half with a 23-yard run to score a touchdown. Lehi began to pull away with a 35-14 lead over Orem.

Reynolds III threw an interception to Kadiyon Sweat who took the ball back 77 yards for a pick-six. That was Sweat’s second touchdown of the night and made the score 42-14 for Lehi.

Kobe Moore then caught a touchdown from Brousseau and Lehi would gain complete control of the game with a 49-14 lead.

Fourth Quarter

Reynolds III used his legs once again to secure his second rushing touchdown of the night which made the score 49-21, Lehi over Orem.

The backups get a nice score in garbage time as Jet Niu passes to Fernando Ruelas and Lehi picked up the 55-21.
