PROVO, Utah – Some notes and tidbits from pregame at LaVell Edwards for No. 19 BYU/Wyoming.
It’s the first meeting between these two schools since the 2016 Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego. These two programs were once Mountain West and WAC rivals. They used to play on an annual basis, with the last regular season meeting taking place in 2010.

Wyoming hasn’t won in Provo since 1987. BYU has won the last eight meetings in the series, with Wyoming’s last victory coming in 2003 against a BYU team that finished 4-8.
BYU/Wyoming kicks off tonight at 8:15 p.m. (MT) on ESPN2 and KSL NewsRadio. Pregame coverage on the radio at 102.7 FM, 1160 AM begins at 6 p.m.
Pregame notes and observations for BYU/Wyoming
– On the game program, Jaren Hall graces the cover. He’s also the poster featured when you unwind within the program.
– Stadium workers are rolling through the press box, stunned by the score of the Oregon/Washington State game. At the time, the Cougs on the Palouse were up 27-15 on a Ducks squad that looked unstoppable a week ago against BYU. They probably were even more stunned when they saw the Ducks take a 37-34 lead with 1:21 remaining.
– Wyoming comes into this game riding high after an upset victory over Air Force last week in Laramie. The Pokes began preparations for Air Force’s triple option attack as early as the summertime. Wyoming is 0-1 this season in road games, tonight is only their second road game this season.
– Including his time at North Dakota State, where he won three FCS National Championships, Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl has a winning percentage of 64.7% as a head coach. By comparison, BYU’s Kalani Sitake has a 62.5% winning clip dating back to his first season with BYU.

– BYU players and coaches went through the Cougar Walk. Kalani Sitake was his usual hyped self. Some notable young players that were with the team and appear to ready to suit include tight end Anthony Olsen and cornerback Korbyn Green. Olsen is a true freshman from Olympus High, and after the loss to Dallin Holker to the Transfer Portal, Olsen likely moves up the depth chart.
– BYU DB Kaleb Hayes was with the team leading the Cougar Walk, he came into this game dealing with concussion-like symptoms.

– Puka Nacua and Gunner Romney both went through pregame warmups. Romney is still out for tonight’s game. Nacua is a game-time decision.
– Former BYU QB Max Hall is in attendance at LaVell Edwards Stadium for tonight’s game.

– Gunner Romney was ruled out after going through pregame warmups. Nacua suited up in his uniform and did additional drills with Dr. Skyler Mayne.
– The two kickers in pregame practicing field goal attempts are Jake Oldroyd and Justen Smith.
– BYU leading tackler Max Tooley is not suited up for tonight’s game. He practiced on Tuesday.
