SALT LAKE CITY – A long list of Real Salt Lake players have been called into their respective national team duties ahead of the two-week international window.

Around The Globe

Six players in total will depart Salt Lake City for international friendlies.

Jefferson Savarino and Sergio Córdova will represent Venezuela and will travel to Austria for friendlies against Iceland and the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, September 22 at 10 a.m. and on Tuesday, September 27 at 11 a.m. respectively.

Costa Rican international Bryan Oviedo will travel to South Korea for matches against South Korea and Uzbekistan on Friday, September 23 and Tuesday, September 27.

Braian Ojeda will travel with Paraguay to Austria for a fixture against the United Arab Emirates on Friday, September 23 before traveling to Spain for a fixture against Morroco on Tuesday, September 27.

Teenage prodigy Diego Luna will play for the United States U-20 National Team in the Revelations Cup in Mexico City, Mexico during which they will play Peru, Mexico, and Paraguay.

Finally, Real Salt Lake striker Rubio Rubin will represent Guatemala against Colombia on Saturday, September 24 at Red Bull Arena and against Honduras at PNC Stadium in Houston on Tuesday, September 27.

Upcoming Atlas Friendly

While a number of Real Salt Lake players depart the state for international duties, those that were not selected to represent their respective countries will continue to train and prepare for the upcoming friendly against LIGA MX side Atlas.

Real Salt Lake and Atlas will play at America First Field on Thursday, September 22 with kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m.

Following a heartbreaking second half of the season for Real Salt Lake, the fixture against Atlas will provide the club with an opportunity to measure itself against a LIGA MX side. However, it appears unlikely that manager Pablo Mastroeni will play a full-strength side.

Rather, with just two regular season games remaining following the friendly against Atlas, the club will likely need to win both and therefore rest for key contributors to the roster will likely occur against Atlas.
