SALT LAKE CITY – The week four AP Top 25 is out. One team from the state of Utah took a tumble, while the other saw a slight jump.

BYU dropped from No. 12 to No. 19 in this week’s AP Top 25 after losing to Oregon, 41 to 20. Utah crushed the San Diego State Aztecs in a late-night window, giving them a slight jump from 14 to 13 in this week’s rankings.

BYU falls after blowout loss to Oregon

BYU tumbled down the rankings after suffering a 41-20 loss on the road to the Oregon Ducks. A game that probably wasn’t as close as the final score would suggest.

BYU is now 2-1 on the season and turns its attention to former Mountain West Conference rival Wyoming. Kickoff is at 8:15 p.m. on ESPN2 and KSL NewsRadio.

Oregon took a huge jump after crushing BYU. The Ducks were the biggest risers in the AP Top 25 poll, surging up 10 spots to No. 15.

Utah cruised through San Diego State

Utah improves to 2-1 on the season after defeating former Mountain West Conference rival San Diego State, 35 to 7. Quarterback Cam Rising passed for four touchdowns as the Utes jumped out to a 35 to 0 lead through three quarters, then put in the reserves as they rolled to a blowout win.

Next week, Utah opens up Pac-12 play on the road against the Arizona State Sun Devils at 8:30 p.m. (MT) on ESPN.

Pac-12 Conference has four teams

Along with Utah, the Pac-12 Conference has four teams in the week four AP Top 25. USC is at No. 7, Utah, Oregon, and then Washington at No. 18 after their dominating win over Michigan State.
