SALT LAKE CITY – The Donovan Mitchell era with the Utah Jazz is over after being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers and now it’s time to look back at his best moments.
The best moments from Donovan Mitchell’s time with the Jazz weren’t just on the court but it was also off of it.

Best Game
Game 1 of the 2020 NBA Playoffs in the bubble was arguably his best game in a Jazz uniform. Mitchell dropped 57 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists while shooting 19-for-33 from the field, and 6-of-15 from the three-point line. The Jazz lost Game 1 to the Nuggets and was eventually eliminated by Denver in seven games. His 57 points was the third-most points in NBA Playoff history.
Donovan Mitchell scored the third most points in NBA playoff history with 57 against the Nuggets.

Winning The Slam Dunk Contest As A Rookie
The Jazz traded up to get Mitchell when they sent Trey Lyles to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for the 13th pick which was the All-Star guard from Louisville.
Later in his rookie season, Mitchell participated in the 2018 Slam Dunk contest during All-Star weekend and wowed the crowd, while taking home the trophy. He paid tribute to some of the best dunkers in NBA history by wearing their uniforms, including Darrell Griffith and Vince Carter.
2018 NBA Playoffs
Mitchell led the Jazz into the postseason where they would face Russell Westbrook, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, and the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round. The Jazz star to a 4-2 series win and dropped 38 points at home in Game 6, which would clinch the series.
Utah went on to lose to the Houston Rockets in the second round.
Community Involvement
Mitchell was heavily involved in the community. He would be seen going to high school football and basketball games. Mitchell also attended Utah, BYU, and Utah State football games.
Fans that would show up to pregame warm-ups would have a chance to get a signed shoe by Mitchell. He also stood up for the fight against racism and would use his platform for those who didn’t have a voice. In 2021, Mitchell was named the NBA Cares Community Assist Award winner.
2020 NBA Playoffs In The Bubble
The 2020 NBA Playoffs in the bubble in Orlando was one to remember, even though the Jazz were eliminated in the first round. Mitchell dropped 57 points in Game 1, 30 in Game 2, 20 in Game 3, 51 in Game 4, 30 in Game 5, 44 in Game 6 and 22 in Game 7. He finished the 2020 postseason averaging 36 points per game.
Mitchell was the youngest player in NBA history to score 50 points or more in multiple games in a playoff series.
