PROVO, Utah – Built Bar is becoming synonymous with BYU football.

Last year, Built Brands LLC. created national headlines by extending individual name, image, and likeness deals to BYU football walk-ons.

Built Bar is back again for another year. On Tuesday, Built Brands announced they signed all 36 of BYU’s walk-on players. Last year, the money from the deal was enough to cover the tuition costs for a walk-on.

“We are grateful for Built Brand’s continued innovation and support for our Built4Life program that helps empower our players to build upon a foundation of love, learning and service,” said BYU football head coach Kalani Sitake. “Nick’s vision, like our own, focuses on the whole and elevating everyone around us. We look forward to this next chapter of our relationship, including partnering with Built on the Built for Good campaign, and providing even more player development opportunities for our entire team.”

Along with walk-on athletes, scholarship players signed individual deals with Built Bar.

Last year, Built Brands CEO Nick Greer said, “Florida has Gatorade, Oregon has Nike, and BYU has Built.” The Built brand continues to have its presence within the BYU football program.

Built’s logo will be on BYU’s team bench in LaVell Edwards Stadium this fall. That goes along with the fueling station walls at the Student Athlete Building locker room before the players exit the locker room to the practice field.

LES also has a wall of protein Built bars for players to fuel when at the stadium.

CougarTail Built Bar unveiled

The newest flavor on the wall and available to fans is a CougarTail flavor.

Named after BYU’s popular treat at BYU sporting events, Built Bar released a “Puffs” bar that tastes like a CougarTail.

Greer and the Built Brands team unveiled the new flavor during Saturday’s scrimmage when mascot Cosmo flew into LaVell Edwards Stadium on a parachute.

The BYU players will get a 15% cut of the sales from Built’s CougarTail bars. Along with a cut of the sales, players received a t-shirt and beanie that featured a cartoon Cougar logo eating a CougarTail Built bar.

“I also love how the new CougarTail bar so uniquely reflects a popular tradition of BYU sporting events and the tastes of Cougar Nation,” said Sitake.

BYU football opens the 2022 season against South Florida on Saturday, September 3, in Tampa.
