SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz television broadcast will remain on AT&T Sports Network this season, a point of frustration for many Jazz fans.

Team president Jim Olson discussed the Jazz current situation heading into the 2022-23 season on Wednesday with members of the local media including KSL Sports Scott Garrard.

You can hear Garrard’s full breakdown of the meeting with Jake Scott and Ben Anderson in the player below.

In the meeting, Olson said that AT&T Sports Network had exclusive rights to negotiate a new deal with the Jazz up until recent weeks. With the season set to begin in October, there was not enough time to strike a deal with a new broadcast partner ahead of the 2022-23 season.

However, the Jazz broadcasts will likely look different next season as the team pursues new options for fans to consume the games.

The Jazz have the option to team again with a regional broadcast partner like AT&T Sports Network or Bally Sports or could pursue other options entirely.

Essentially, all options are on the table for the Jazz going into the 2023-24 schedule.

The primary issues for Jazz fans who are currently stuck with AT&T Sports is the lack of access on the Dish Network and limited streaming options.

Dish Network dropped AT&T Sports Network in 2021 leaving fans unable to watch the games on one of the largest television providers in the state.

Further complicating the issue is the lack of streaming options through traditional TV providers. Last season fans could stream Jazz games through FuboTV or DirecTV Stream, but those services came at an additional cost on top of their current TV deals.

Though Olson didn’t elaborate on the specifics of next year’s television deal, he did say the Jazz will announce their decision as soon as they have come to an agreement on options for the 2023-24 season, giving fans ample opportunity to prepare for next year.
