SALT LAKE CITY – It was a busy day across the NFL as the preseason week one really got rolling with eight games on the schedule.

We take a look around the league and shine a spotlight on players with ties to the state of Utah.

Cougars In The NFL

Dax Milne – Wide Receiver – Washington Commanders (0-1)

Milne caught two passes for 30 yards with along of 23 yards on three targets.

Brady Christensen – Tackle – Carolina Panthers (1-0)

Christensen played in the Panthers preseason opener.

Zayne Anderson – Defensive Back – Kansas City Chiefs (0-1)

Anderson did not accumulate any stats in the Chiefs loss to Chicago.

Next Game: vs. Washington Commanders on Saturday, August 20 at 2 p.m. (MST).

Matt Bushman – Tight End – Kansas City Chiefs (0-1)

Did not receive any targets in the Chiefs loss to Chicago.

Khyiris Tonga – Defensive Line – Chicago Bears (1-0)

Tonga finished with one tackle against the Chiefs.

Neil Pau’u – Wide Receiver – Buffalo Bills (1-0)

Pau’u made two catches for 10 yards for the Bills. He was targeted three times by Buffalo quarterbacks.

Samson Nacua – Wide Receiver – Indianapolis Colts (0-1)

Nacua made the most of his one target, corralling the catch for four yards.

Chris Wilcox – Cornerback – Indianapolis Colts (0-1)

Six solo tackles from Wilcox led Indianapolis in this game.

Ty’Son Williams – Running Back – Indianapolis Colts (0-1)

Willams carried the ball five times for 10 yards. He also caught one pass for 15 yards and a touchdown.

Troy Warner – Safety – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-1)

Warner picked up four tackles against the Dolphins in a two point loss.

Taysom Hill – Tight End – New Orleans Saints

Did not play against the Packers.

Daniel Sorensen – Safety – New Orleans Saints

Finished with three tackles in his first game with New Orleans.

James Empey – Center – Dallas Cowboys

Empey saw some playing time at right guard for Dallas during the fourth quarter of Dallas’ preseason opener.

Utes In The NFL

Jaylon Johnson – Defensive Back- Chicago Bears (1-0)

Johnson recorded one tackle in limited playing time against Kansas City.

Zack Moss – Running Back – Buffalo Bills (1-0)

Entering his third season in Buffalo, Moss led the Bills with 37 yards rushing on three carries including a big 27-yard gain early in the first quarter.

Julian Blackmon – Safety – Indianapolis Colts (0-1)

The former Utah safety finished with a pair of tackles and forced a fumble in the Colts 27-24 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Cody Barton – Linebacker – Seattle Seahawks (0-1)

Barton was credited with three tackles in Seattle’s loss to Pittsburgh.

Marquise Blair – Free Safety – Seattle Seahawks (0-1)

Blair finished with two tackles (one solo) against Pittsburgh.

Eric. Rowe – Safety – Miami Dolphins (1-0)

Rowe finished with one tackle in the Dolphins win over Tampa Bay.

Brian Allen – Defensive Back – New Orleans Saints

Allen did not register a tackle but intercepted a pass late against the Texans.

Chase Hansen – Linebacker – New Orleans Saints

Hansen finished with six tackles (five solo) and returned an interception 44-yards against the Texans.

Nephi Sewell – Linebacker – New Orleans Saints

Sewell finished with six tackles (four solo) in his first NFL action with the Saints.

Garrett Bolles – Left Tackle – Denver Broncos (1-0)

Bolles did not appear in the Broncos preseason opener.

Mika Tafua – Defensive End – Dallas Cowboys (0-1)

Tafua finished with one tackle in limited action against the Broncos.

Derek Wright – Wide Receiver – Carolina Panthers (1-0)

Wright was targeted three times, finishing with three catches for 46 total yards.

Patrick Scales – Long Snapper – Chicago Bears (1-0)

Scales is the only long-snapper in camp with Chicago and was mistake free on Saturday afternoon.

Jaylen Warren – Running Back – Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0)

Warren averaged 5.7 yards per carry for 34 yards and caught four passes for a 30 yards and a score.

Devin Thompkins – Wide Receiver – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-1)

Thompkins was targeted three times, hauling in two passes for 11 yards in his NFL debut.
