BYU Football Among Top Schools For Florida WR Daidren Zipperer

PROVO, Utah – BYU football made the cut for a high school wide receiver from Florida.
Daidren Zipperer, a 2023 recruit from Lakeland, Florida, announced his top six schools on Tuesday. BYU was one of those six schools.

The other five schools that round out Zipperer’s top six include South Carolina from the SEC, defending ACC Champion Pitt, BYU’s season-opening opponent in 2022 in USF, Arkansas State, and fellow Big 12 newcomer UCF.
BYU football was the first D1 school to offer Daidren Zipperer
BYU was Zipperer’s first FBS scholarship offer last November. He was part of the group of Florida recruits that visited Provo last November with five-star Cormani McClain. Zipperer, McClain’s high school teammate, saw a glimpse of a game day in Provo when BYU took on Idaho State.

Last week, Zipperer was in Provo again for another unofficial visit. He gave a first-person account of his thoughts on BYU to the Lakeland (FL) Ledger newspaper.
I took a second unofficial visit to BYU this past weekend, and it’s just different. I’m from Florida, and everywhere in the city is just straight mountains — everywhere you go. Not only for football, but the networking opportunities at BYU, I feel like I can thrive here on and off the field. Coach Kalani (Sitake) and Coach Fesi (Sitake) are brothers, and they are very cool and genuine. As for the facilities, the locker rooms are amazing. Everything looks good.
In total, Zipperer reports 22 scholarship offers.
Potential timeline
Zipper has already taken two of his five official visits to Pitt and UCF. He hasn’t lined up an official visit date yet with BYU. He told The Ledger that he would take his final three visits during the football season and make a final decision “around mid-September.”
