Utes Get 2022 JuCo Transfer Ti’Quan Gilmore

SALT LAKE CITY- The Utes go back to their junior college roots once more getting a commitment from wide receiver Ti’Quan Gilmore. Gilmore joins Utah from College of the Canyons and has two years of eligibility left to make an impact.

About Ti’Quan Gilmore

Gilmore is considered a three-star JuCo receiver prospect and will go a long ways to shore up Utah’s receiver lineup heading into an anticipated 2022 campaign. At 5’11” and 189 lbs., Gilmore possesses good speed which makes him a threat deep on the perimeter. This is particularly good for the Utes as both head coach Kyle Whittingham and offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig have stated their desire to spread the field more both vertically and horizontally in 2022.

Gilmore started his career in 2018 with the Eastern Washington Eagles, but eventually transferred to College of the Canyons for a fresh start. There he recorded 31 receptions for 658 yards and ten touchdowns.

With proven production, Gilmore will be in the mix to provide quarterback Cam Rising one more target among many in a season some experts think the Utes have a chance to break into the College Football Playoff.

Wide Receivers

The wide receiver position has largely been on the quiet side for Utah in recent years outside of some pass catching tight ends such as Brant Kuithe and Dalton Kincaid. Whittingham and crew are bullish on fixing that perception in 2022 not only with the guys currently on the roster, but players that could be brought in either from the transfer portal or the JuCo ranks. Gilmore should be a welcome addition to that effort.
