SALT LAKE CITY- Former Utah and current Denver Bronco’s offensive tackle Garett Bolles turns 30 today. The Broncos tweeted out their love to Bolles Friday afternoon and the Utah football Twitter account retweeted the sentiment.

Garett Bolles’ Career
Bolles played one year at left tackle for the Utes in 2016 before moving on to the NFL. Before Bolles joined Utah he played for Snow College in Ephraim, Utah for two seasons. There he blew up and drew the attention of schools such as Alabama.
In 2017, Bolles was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft with the 20th overall pick to the Broncos. Despite Bolles’ obvious talent, he was a work in progress and his pro career didn’t start as smoothly as he would have liked.
In 2019, Denver’s general manager, John Elway voiced his frustration with Bolles for being the most flagged player for holding in the league over his first three seasons. At the time it looked like the Broncos might part ways with Bolles, but then things started to click for him.
2020 saw great growth from Bolles to where Denver locked him down in November of that year with a four-year, $68 million dollar deal.
Garett Bolles’ Charity Work
One of the most significant parts of Bolles’ story is his battle with learning disabilities and how in many ways it slowed his progress in the game of football and life. Bolles has been very vocal about his struggles since joining the NFL and has worked hard to bring awareness so other kids like him don’t get left behind.
Bolles has been a big advocate for the National Center for Learning Disabilities representing their cause through the NFL’s My Cleats, My Cause initiative. In 2018, Bolles was awareded the Distinguished Leadership Award by NCLD for his efforts to make sure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
