SALT LAKE CITY – Justen Glad takes advantage of a set piece opening to put RSL on the board and even the score against CF Montreal early in the second half.
Real Salt Lake hoped to maintain the momentum gained in a late comeback win over over Austin FC as they traveled north of the border to take on CF Montreal on Sunday, May 22.

In the 54th minute, Glad took a corner kick and calmly flicked it past Montreal goalkeeper Sebastian Breza to tie the game at one goal apiece.
Real has had the better scoring chances all game long but couldn’t capitalize until Glad’s header found the back of the net. RSL has seven shots (two on goal) compared to just four shots and a single on frame for Montreal.
The goal was the second of the season for Glad, tying him with Tate Schmitt and Bobby Wood for the team lead through 13 matches.
RSL is looking for their second straight victory after a come from behind 2-1 win against Atlanta FC last weekend.
Overcoming Adversity
The start to the 2022 campaign for Real Salt Lake has not been perfect, but progress has been made as manager Pablo Mastroeni continues his efforts to develop the club culture and identity.
Without question, Real Salt Lake has endured far more positive moments than negative throughout the opening 12 matches of the 2022 season. The club finds itself in the fifth position in the western conference, tied on points with fourth-placed LA Galaxy, despite having the lowest payroll in the league.
Gutsy road performances have headlined the start for Real Salt Lake. The return of Anderson Julio and Jefferson Savarino has also added optimism to the fiery fanbase. New ownership has invested in the gameday atmosphere and experience and Rio Tinto Stadium has thrived, posting five consecutive sellouts to begin 2022.
