Utes Come Up Short In ASUN Championship

HUNTSVILLE- What has been a historic season for Utah lacrosse came to an end just short of a conference championship. The Utes fought hard through overtime, but fell to Robert Morris 18-17. Still, Utah finished the 2022 with 10 wins- a record in their short existence and a positive sign for the future of the fledgling program.

About The Game
Utah and RMU played through ten ties and eight lead changes to determine who would be crowned the ASUN Champion. With 7:28 left in regulation, the Utes were trying to nurse a 2-point lead, but Robert Morris would not be deterred and went on a 2-0 run to take the match to overtime.
In overtime RMU took possession by winning the face-off and running the shot clock down before calling a timeout. Out of the timeout Robert Morris converted a shot for the golden goal and title.
Team Leaders
Tyler Bradbury and MJ McMahon both led the Utes in goals with a hat trick and four assists each. McMahon’s four assists were a career high. Josh Stout was good for two goals and five assists during Saturday afternoon’s battle. Jordan Hyde and Cody Hart contributed two goals a piece.
Cole Brams was aggressive gaining 11 ground balls- a team high, while also cementing himself in the record books with 111 total ground balls for the season. Samuel Cambere, Joey Boylston, and Josh Rose all added three ground balls apiece while also each grabbing a caused turnover.
