SALT LAKE CITY – Real Salt Lake can finally enjoy a stretch where they will play five of the next eight games at Rio Tinto Stadium following a start to the season that included six of the first nine MLS games on the road.

However, despite the difficult start to the season, Real Salt Lake has managed to muster three wins, four draws, and just two losses to comfortably sit in the sixth position.

Now Real Salt Lake will look ahead to more home games than those on the road. The level of the opponent will not drop off, however.

This week Real Salt Lake welcomes a vastly improved LA Galaxy team that finds themselves in the third place in the West, just two points shy of the conference leaders and cross-town rival LAFC.

The upcoming fixture is poised to be a tantalizing encounter between two quality sides fighting for league-wide respect as they look to return to the top of the competition.

Immediately following the Galaxy home game, Real Salt Lake will travel to the much-improved Nashville SC which currently sits just outside the playoff line. Then, a home encounter against second-placed Austin F.C., a long east coast trip to Montreal, a home match against Houston, road affair versus Vancouver, before finishing the eight-game stretch with consecutive fixtures at home against San Jose and Colombus.

Real Salt Lake is on track to potentially surpass its best-ever season points total of 57 which occurred in 2012. Through the first nine games the club has managed to pluck 13 points, however, with the theory that home games poise as a greater chance of picking up three points, Real Salt Lake will have an opportunity throughout the remainder of the season to capitalize on the games at home.

Furthermore, the injury bug has whipped through the RSL locker room as the club enjoys a spell of good health. It appears as though that Real Salt Lake is beginning to find its stride in 2022 following a start to the season that not only brought many road games but also included numerous injuries to key figures.
