SALT LAKE CITY – The Dallas Mavericks announced that their star forward, Luka Dončić, is doubtful to play in Game 2 of the team’s playoff series against the Utah Jazz.
The Mavs updated Dončić’s status on Sunday, April 17.
Dončić suffered a leg injury during Dallas’ regular season finale on April 10.
A day before the update, Utah defeated Dallas in Game 1 to take a 1-0 series lead. Dončić did not play in Game 1.

Earlier on Sunday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said Doncic was unlikely to play in Game 2.
“Luka Doncic is unlikely for Game 2 vs. Utah on Monday, sources tell @espn_macmahon and me,” Wojnarowski tweeted. “He hasn’t yet been ruled out, but would have to make dramatic improvement in the next 24 hours to be cleared to play with that left calf strain.”

Prior to the postseason opener, Wojnarowski reported that the injury could seriously impact Doncic’s availability to open the series.
“I’m told this is more than just a mild calf strain,” Wojnarowski said. “The Mavericks are very much preparing for the possibility of not only maybe not having him in game one, but maybe even game two.”
