SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz are beginning to send out their end-of-season awards campaign material to media members who will vote for MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Sixth Man, and both the All-NBA and All-Defensive teams.

The Jazz are campaigning for Rudy Gobert to earn his fourth Defensive Player of the Year award and to be represented on an All-NBA team, for Donovan Mitchell to earn All-NBA awards, for Jordan Clarkson to repeat as the Sixth Man of the Year, and for Royce O’Neale to earn his first All-Defensive team selection.

This year’s campaign resembles a trophy and NFT with a QR code that can be scanned and will redirect voters to a website representing the four Jazz hopefuls.

On the site, the Jazz make a case for each player to earn their end-of-season award by sharing stats, player comparisons, and highlights from each award hopeful.

Gobert is on track to become the first player in NBA history to average at least 15 points and 14 rebounds while shooting better than 70 percent from the floor.

The All-Star center is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and is looking to become only the third player in league history to earn the honor four times along with Ben Wallace and Dikembe Mutombo.

Mitchell is looking to earn his first All-NBA honors after being named to his third consecutive All-Star team.

The guard was named Western Conference Player of the Month in December averaging 30.1 points and 5.0 assists per game while leading the Jazz to a 12-2 record.

For the season, Mitchell is averaging 23.9 points, 5.4 assists, and 4.1 rebounds.

Clarkson was the first Jazz player to earn Sixth Man of the Year honors last season when he beat out teammate Joe Ingles in the media voting.

According to the team’s site, Clarkson leads the NBA in plus-minus among all bench players in the NBA at +327 this season.

O’Neale meanwhile is looking to earn his first All-Defensive team honors as he routinely draws the toughest defensive assignment for the Jazz.

The forward ranks 13th in defensive box plus-minus this season and is in the top 98th percentile of matchup difficulty per the team.

The NBA had previously handed out the end-of-season awards at a ceremony broadcast on TNT, but last season named the winners during their playoff broadcasts.
