SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz proved to be no match for the Boston Celtics as they lost game three of their six-game road trip 125-97.

Donovan Mitchell scored 37 points but it mattered little as Boston built an 18 point lead early in the first quarter and never looked back.

Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum scored 26 points each as the Celtics have now won 23 of their last 27 games.

First Quarter

The Celtics opened the game shooting a perfect 10-10 from the floor building a 28-12 lead in the first seven and a half minutes of the game.

The Jazz responded by looking for tough isolation threes that didn’t drop, allowing the Celtics to get easy runouts off misses to hold onto their lead even when their shots stopped falling.

Boston shot 78 percent from the floor and 77 percent from the three-point line in the first quarter.

After one, the Jazz trailed the Celtics 39-24.

Second Quarter

Boston continued to outplay the Jazz in the second quarter allowing their lead to climb to 30 midway through the quarter.

The Jazz took a small bite out of the lead as Donovan Mitchell had success scoring against Celtics defense, but there wasn’t much to celebrate in the first half.

Mitchell had 19 points to tie Jayson Tatum to lead all scorers at the break.

At halftime, the Jazz trailed the Celtics 68-45.

Third Quarter

The Jazz opened the second half playing with extra energy and behind Mitchell’s scoring they were able to trim their deficit to 18

However, once Mitchell cooled off the Celtics casually rebuilt their lead to 25 as they smothered the Jazz defensively.

Mitchell had 30 points heading into the fourth quarter while the Celtics were led by Tatum with 26.

After three, the Jazz trailed the Celtics 93-68.

Fourth Quarter

The Celtics jumped on the Jazz early in the fourth quarter and built their lead to 29 as the game never truly got close.

Quin Snyder went to his deep bench with 4:47 left in the fourth quarter as the Jazz turned their attention to the Charlotte Hornets who they will play on Friday night.

Mitchell finished with 37 points while Tatum and Jaylen Brown added 26 to lead the Celtics.

The Jazz lost to Boston 125-97.
