SALT LAKE CITY – Kevin Durant proved to be too much as the Brooklyn Nets downed the Utah Jazz 114-106.

Durant finished with 37 points on 15-23 shooting to push Brooklyn past the Jazz.

Donovan Mitchell scored 30 points, but shot just 5-15 from the three-point line in the loss.

First Quarter

The Jazz got off to a slow start in Brooklyn with Mitchell shooting 0-3 to go along with a turnover to open the game.

However, the guard found his stroke and scored a quick seven points to help the Jazz build a 21-16 lead.

Kevin Durant scored eight first quarter points to erase the Jazz lead as part of a 9-4 Nets run.

Jordan Clarkson led all scorers with 10 points as the Jazz took a 28-25 lead into the second quarter.

Second Quarter

The Jazz shot the ball well in the second quarter knocking down 7-15 from the floor and 2-5 from the three-point line but committed five turnovers in the frame.

Brooklyn’s length and defense made it difficult for the Jazz to manufacture open looks on the perimeter.

Patty Mills and Durant added seven points each in the quarter to give the Nets a halftime lead.

At the break, the Jazz trailed the Nets 53-51.

Third Quarter

Durant took over the third quarter for the Nets who broke down the Jazz defense early and often in the second half.

The Nets superstar scored 12 points in the quarter as Brooklyn outscored the Jazz 38-24 in the frame.

Mitchell managed just four points in the third on 1-4 shooting to go along with six turnovers through three quarters.

Heading into the fourth quarter, the Jazz trailed the Nets 91-75.

Fourth Quarter

The Jazz weren’t able to close the deficit early in the fourth quarter with Durant off the floor, and when he returned, he put the game out of reach.

Durant built the Nets lead to as large as 21 as he finished with a game-high 37 points on an efficient 15-23 shooting.

The Jazz used a 15-2 run to trim the Nets lead to six in the final minutes, but there wasn’t enough time on the clock to erase the deficit.

Mitchell led the Jazz with 30 points, but shot just 9-22 from the field and committed six turnovers

The Jazz fell to the Nets 114-106.
