Jazz Open Long Road Trip With Win Over Knicks

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz opened their six-game road trip with a 108-93 over the New York Knicks despite playing very shorthanded.
The Jazz were playing without Mike Conley, Bogan Bogdanovic, Danuel House Jr., Trent Forrest, and Udoka Azubuike.
Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 36 points on 11-21 shooting.
First Quarter
The Knicks opened the first quarter shooting well from downtown, knocking down 7-11 threes including two four-point plays.
The Jazz countered with five made threes of their own, but both teams struggled inside the arc.

The Knicks shot just 4-11 inside the paint while the Jazz shot 3-6.
After one, the Jazz trailed the Knicks 31-26.
Second Quarter
The Jazz opened the second quarter on an 11-3 run fueled by Jordan Clarkson who found a rhythm in the paint.
Clarkson scored 10 of his 18 halftime points in the second quarter.

Donovan Mitchell also had 18 first half points as the Jazz won the second quarter 34-22.
At the break, the Jazz led the Knicks 60-53.
Third Quarter
The Jazz strong defense from the second quarter carried over as the Knicks managed just 20 points on 6-25 shooting.
However, the Jazz offense also stagnated from the first half as they managed just 25 points of their own.

Rudy Gobert had eight points on the quarter including six made free-throws.
After three the Jazz led New York 85-73.
Fourth Quarter
The Knicks defense picked up in the fourth quarter and they stymied the Jazz in the opening minutes of the period.
After the Jazz built a 15 point lead, the Knicks used a 17-6 run to trim the Jazz lead to just four with seven minutes left to play.

However, the Jazz answered with a 10-2 run to rebuild their lead and earn the win.
The Jazz beat the Knicks 108-93 to open their six-game road trip.
