SLCC Beats Chipola To Reach NJCAA Championship Game

SALT LAKE CITY – The Salt Lake Community College men’s basketball team advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association championship game.
No. 1 SLCC defeated Chipola in the semifinal round at Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson, Kansas on Friday, March 18.
The Bruins beat the Indians, 70-68, and advanced to the D-I championship contest.
It will be SLCC’s first title game appearance since 2016.

SLCC finished the game shooting 36.8 percent overall and 29.6 percent on three-pointers.
Four Bruins reached double figures in scoring.
Quincy McGriff led the Bruins with 19 points and two steals. Jordan Brinson added 10 points, three rebounds, and eight assists.
Jaquan Scott and Max Watson combined for 27 points off the bench.

Salt Lake Community College will play against No. 10 Northwest Florida State in the title game.

The title game will tip-off at Hutchinson Sports Arena on Saturday, March 19 at 5 p.m. (MDT).
SLCC finished its regular season schedule with a 35-1 overall record, including 18-1 in conference action.
