Utah Warriors Excited To Play In Front Of Home Crowd Following Bye Week

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Warriors are excited to get to Zions Bank Stadium and play in front of their fans on Saturday in their 2022 home opener.
The Utah Warriors are hoping to get their first win of the season and snap a three-game losing streak when they face the Dallas Jackals. They lost their first three games of the season by a combined total of 19 points, including just five points in their first two matches.
All three of those games were on the road. Now, the Warriors are back at home after a full week of rest and preparation. Head coach Shawn Pittman spoke with the media on Tuesday afternoon and was asked about how the bye week went for his team and trying to get their first win of the season.

“The big thing for us is we’ve attempted to create a line in the sand from the last four weeks to now,” said Pittman. “Using the bye week, it’s kind of a regeneration of momentum and just building off some positives we did have the first three weeks and trying to drive it towards more of making the boys aware that we’re going to have a home game. We’re going to be in front of our friends and family. So we painted a really good picture around that to hopefully, and I very much believe to change the tide of the season.”
The Warriors have a nice home field advantage. Pittman talked about why they play well at home.
“It’s hard to win on the road in the MLR,” stated Pittman. “Coming to Zion Bank Stadium is very difficult. We’re one of the only teams at altitude and we pride ourselves with a high ball and play. Last season, we finished one of the highest balls and play for overall for the whole year. So when people come here, they know it’s a challenging task, with the amount of running that we’re trying to create with our kicking, vast, open play rugby.”
The Warriors and Jackals will begin at noon MT on Saturday, March 5. The match will be streamed on KSLSports.com, the KSL Sports app and the KSL TV app.
