Joe Ingles Undergoes Successful ACL Surgery

SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Jazz guard Joe Ingles underwent successful surgery to repair his torn ACL on Wednesday.
The longtime Jazzman shared the news of his procedure on Twitter.

Ingles suffered the season-ending knee injury during the team’s loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on January 30.
The Jazz announced that the MRI on Ingles knee revealed a torn ACL in his left knee, but luckily, didn’t suffer any further structural damage.
Less than two weeks after the injury, the Jazz traded Ingles to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Juancho Hernangomez.
The move to trade Ingles expiring contract to Portland saved the Jazz nearly $25 million in luxury tax.
Ingles averaged 7.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game with the Jazz this season before the trade.
At 34 years old, Ingles was the second-longest tenured Jazzman behind Rudy Gobert was in the final year of his contract with the team.
Ingles is set to hit free agency this summer and is free to sign with any team, including the Jazz.

Traditionally, the recovery time for a torn ACL is 6-9 months, though age and role can both alter that timeline. Ingles had hinted at a longer 10-month rehab stint from his injury from the date of surgery, placing his potential return in early 2023.
The guard also said he has plans to represent Australia in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Ingles helped lead the Boomers to the Bronze medal during the 2021 games in Tokyo.
