Trent Forrest Puts Knicks Reddish In Spin Cycle

SALT LAKE CITY – Trent Forrest continued his recent hot play with a pretty fake-out move in Utah Jazz matchup with the New York Knicks.
Forrest caught an offensive rebound, faked out the Knicks Cam Reddish, and finished with his right hand at the rim.
The second-year guard utilized his characteristic high-energy play to record the highlight.

Forrest had four points and four rebounds through three quarters for the Jazz but was instrumental in erasing a big Knicks lead midway through the third quarter as the Jazz trailed by four heading into the final period.
The former Florida State project is averaging 2.9 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists for the Jazz in his second season after going undrafted in the 2020 NBA draft.

January proved to be one of the most difficult months in recent Jazz memory with the team losing 12 of their 16 contests, due largely to absences from key players.
The team’s two All-Stars missed significant time during the month as Donovan Mitchell suffered a concussion which caused him to miss eight games.
Rudy Gobert meanwhile has missed 11 of the Jazz’s last 16 games with COVID-19 and a calf strain which held him out again against New York.
Joe Ingles was lost for the season with an ACL tear last Sunday, while Jordan Clarkson has missed the last two games with knee soreness but returned to face New York.

The absence of Mitchell, Ingles, and recently Clarkson opened up additional minutes for Forrest in the rotation.
The Knicks haven’t had an easy stretch in recent weeks either.
After their surprising run to the playoffs last year, the Knicks have been the of the league’s most disappointing teams this season.
The Knicks are just 2-8 in their last 10 games including Saturday’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in which they blew a 21 point first half lead.
