SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Jazz center Hassan Whiteside showed Karl Anthony-Towns that there is more than just Rudy Gobert protecting the basket for the Jazz this season.
The Timberwolves hosted Whiteside and the Jazz on Sunday, January 30 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

With 2:34 left in the first quarter, Timberwolves forward Karl Anthony-Towns drove around Rudy Gay at the free throw line and was met by a fully extended Whiteside as he rose to the basket.
Normally this type of play might draw a second look from the officials, but the textbook defensive approach from Whiteside left no doubt of a clean block.
The Jazz trailed Minnesota 17-13 at the time of the play.
Whiteside is averaging 8.5 points, seven rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game this year for the Jazz in 17.5 minutes played.
Utah’s game against Minnesota tipped-off on Sunday, January 30 at 6 p.m. (MDT). The game is being broadcasted on AT&T SportsNet, NBA League Pass, and The Zone Sports Network.
